"We had an electrician install this light (hardwire mount) near my son's bed. It's easy for him to turn it off/on without having to get out of bed. We also chose it because it takes a regular bulb - not a halogen. Halogens are too hot/dangerous to be near a young child and too hot to be near any bedding. I wish it had a little longer reach, but I am not dissapointed, as I knew the measurements going into the purchase."
